Why roofs wear differently in the mountains.

Trees are hard on a roof

Heavy tree cover keeps a roof damp and drops leaves, needles and limbs on it all year. Valleys clog, moss takes hold on the shaded side, and water backs up where it shouldn’t.

The real condition shows at tear-off

Nobody can see every soft spot in the decking from the ground. A sound roofing job leaves room to replace bad wood once the old roof is off, and tells you what was found.

Gutters do more work here

This part of Georgia gets well over 50 inches of rain in a typical year, and most lots slope. Gutters that move water away from the house protect the logs, the deck posts and the foundation.

Common questions

Do you install gutters and gutter guards?

Yes. One of our clients, Tony Allison, had us install gutters and gutter guards along with his new roof.

Can you fix a leak without replacing the whole roof?

Often, yes. It depends on the age of the roof and where the water is getting in. We’ll look at it and tell you plainly whether a repair makes sense.

What happens if you find rotten wood under the old roof?

We repair it. Rotten wood repair is one of our core services, so decking, fascia and framing get fixed by the same crew before the new roof goes on.
